Good Technology announced that Nicko van Someren, PhD has joined the company as the Chief Technology Officer. In his new role, van Someren will be responsible for charting the company’s technical vision and advancing the company’s leadership in mobile security. Van Someren brings diverse experience in technology, most recently serving as Chief Security Architect for Juniper Networks, Inc., where he led the technology strategy for the Core Security Software business unit. At Juniper, van Someren developed converged security models to encompass network, mobile, application and cloud security technologies. Prior to that, van Someren successfully co-founded two technology companies over a period of fifteen years, serving in the role of Executive Director at ANT Ltd. and then as Chief Technology Officer for nCipher Corp. Van Someren earned his Bachelor of Arts and his PhD at Trinity College of Cambridge University. He is also a published author in numerous industry publications and holds several patents.
Taylor Winfield was charged with finding an executive who would be a thought leader and innovator in mobile security and also build credibility across a diverse global audience. Van Someren is an independent and creative thinker with the ability to interpret technology and market trends and communicate effectively with customers, analysts and other industry leaders.
